Patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis present at younger ages. Unfortunately, satisfaction after knee arthroplasty is limited, especially regarding activities. Both patient expectations and limitations of the implants can play a role.
Aim of our projects is to investigate and improve activities and satisfaction. We focus on possibilities of returning to sport following the main surgical treatment options: total and unicondylar knee arthroplasty and knee osteotomy, Also, we explore expectations and satisfaction and we study the effects of a multidisciplinary intervention tool for rehabilitation after knee arthroplasty to manage expectations of these younger, athletic and working knee osteoarthitis patients better.
