Joep Suskens, human movement scientist and PhD candidate at the AMC departments Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery has received two grants. He received a NWA Idea Generator research grant of €50.000 and a ZonMW Sport Innovator Voucher grant of €10.000. His PhD focusses on hamstring injury prevention, and recovery. With the NWA grant, his aim is to unravel the mysteries of muscle injuries by delving into new dynamic measurements during high-speed running. The ZonMW grant will support him in describing neurophysiological characteristics of the famous Nordic hamstring exercise.
